In an interview to Expresso Newspaper, Pedro Vicente, Scientific Director of NOVAFRICA, talked about two NOVAFRICA projects that are helping to reduce conflict and religious extremism in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
The first project was a large-scale information campaign on the management of natural resources, which decreased the incidence on conflict. The second project related to sensitization of youths countering Islamic extremism, which led to less anti-social behavior. In this interview, the professor at Nova SBE and development expert talks about ways to resolve the conflict in Cabo Delgado, based on evidence. This conflict already produced more than 1000 people dead.
