NOVAFRICA is accepting applications for Research Internships.
We are looking for an intern to be integrated in the following ongoing NOVAFRICA field research project:
• Integrating Rural Migrants in Cities – A Field Experiment in Mozambique (Quelimane, Mozambique)
• Belief Systems and Health Behaviors in Guinea Bissau (Bissau, Guinea-Bissau)
These internships are open to all Nova SBE students, from January to July 2022, with the possibility of extension. The internships are not paid, although travel, accommodation, health expenses and basic subsistence will be covered by NOVAFRICA.
The interns will be responsible for accompanying fieldwork and survey implementation, and for performing a variety of tasks including survey programming, data checks and backups, staff training and team management in the field.
Candidates will be selected based on their interest in research in economic development in Africa. Some personal characteristics, like industriousness and capacity to build productive inter-personal relationships, are also important. Working knowledge of Portuguese is needed, but fluency (although welcome) is not a requirement. Knowledge of Stata or other statistical software is a plus.
If you are interested, please contact NOVAFRICA until December 3 by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org including a one-page letter of motivation that explains why you would like to join the NOVAFRICA’s Research Internship program, letters of recommendation (if available), and your curriculum vitae with the subject “NOVAFRICA_RA_DEC2021”.
