NOVAFRICA News: 2026 NOVAFRICA PhD Summer School in Development Economics
We are thrilled to celebrate the successful conclusion of this year’s PhD Summer School in Development Economics at Nova School of Business and Economics. The 2026 cohort brought together a diverse and talented group of students from various universities, all eager to deepen their understanding of development economics.
A highlight of the program was the participation of Professor David McKenzie from The World Bank, who delivered a comprehensive and engaging course on the “Practical Issues in Designing and Analyzing Field Experiments”. His insights and practical knowledge equipped students and participants valuable insights into the design, implementation, and analysis of randomized field experiments an increasingly important tool for evidence-based policymaking and development research.
A big thank you to Professor McKenzie and to everyone who contributed to making this event a success. We look forward to the positive impact this cohort will have in the field of development economics!
