NOVAFRICA Vacancy for Research Assistant (Mozambique)

Professor Pedro Vicente (Nova SBE) seeks qualified applicants for the position of Research Assistant (RA) for data analysis in a project on conflict prevention in Mozambique.
This position is an excellent option for students considering a PhD. The RA will gain experience participating in the research process, with close collaboration and mentoring from Prof. Vicente.

Responsibilities include:
• Preparing data for analysis
• Performing preliminary data analysis
• Creating maps, tables, and figures

Successful candidates will possess:
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics or related fields
• Fluency in Stata and/or R
• Excellent organization and communication skills

Not required but helpful:
• Familiarity with Python and/or GIS software
• Fluency in Portuguese
• Experience with data cleaning and preparation

Start date and duration:
Start date is flexible; the sooner the better. Remote work is a possibility for this position.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is anticipated to be part-time.
