NOVAFRICA Welcomes First Student For the Kofi Annan Business School Foundation Scholarship
During the annual board meeting of the Kofi Annan Business School Foundation, that took place on october 16th and 17th at Nova SBE, NOVAFRICA also presented the first fellow of the program in Lisbon, Elmira Gama.
Elmira, originally from São Tomé and Príncipe, came to Nova SBE in December 2010 to obtain a Bachelor in Economics. After three years, she decided to proceed in her studies with a Master in Finance and is currently finishing her first semester. During her Master, she will be supported by the KABS Foundation scholarship whose aim it is to provide the opportunity for talented and motivated students from developing areas, who do not belong to a privileged class and lack sufficient financial means, to study at and obtain a diploma from one of the associated business schools in Europe.
The iniciative thus indirectly supports the development of the students’ countries of origin when these return to their home countries, and incorporate the local business practices and contribute to their development.
