Call For Papers | Deadline on 14 September 2025 (23:59 CET)

The NOVAFRICA center at the Nova School of Business & Economics, along with the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick are organising the 2026 CEPR Political Economy Symposium in Lisbon, Portugal on 20-21 March 2026.

The aim of the symposium is to bring together top researchers across the world: a focal encounter taking place in Europe every Spring discussing high-quality work in political economy, broadly defined. Another important aim of this symposium is to provide young scholars with the opportunity to meet and discuss their work with senior top scholars in the field. A limited number of papers will be selected to allow maximum time for discussion.

The deadline to submit papers is Sunday 14 September 2025 (23:59 CET).

Note that:

  • Only full drafts of papers will be considered.
  • Each paper submission should include an abstract (200 words max).
  • Submit your document in PDF format to ensure that all fonts, symbols, and equations appear the way they were originally typed.
  • The author submitting the paper is expected to attend the conference for the entire duration and to present. It will not be possible to nominate a co-author to present at a later date.

You can submit your paper here.

If you have any difficulty in applying, please email Jemila Benchikh, CEPR Event Officer at jbenchikh@cepr.org.
