NOVAFRICA is accepting applications for Research Internships (Mozambique)

We are looking for research interns to be integrated into the following ongoing NOVAFRICA field research project:

Integrating Rural Migrants in Cities – a field experiment in Mozambique

This project consists of an RCT to measure the impact of a package to integrate rural migrants in an urban setting. You would take part in the final measurement and data collection.

Start date: June 2023.

Duration: 3 to 6 months, with the possibility of an extension.

Location: Mozambique.

Selection criteria: includes strong motivation related to education and economic development, as well as an interest in research in economics. Some personal characteristics, like autonomy, thoroughness and capacity to build productive interpersonal relationships, are also important. Working knowledge of Portuguese is needed, but fluency (although welcome) is not a requirement.

Your profile:
• Master students in Economics or International Development & Public Policy will be preferred.
• Bachelor’s in economics, Management, Finance or related fields.
• Ability to work independently.
• Some knowledge of and interest in education.
• Working knowledge of Portuguese is required.

Compensation: The internships are unpaid, although NOVAFRICA will cover travel, accommodation, health expenses, and subsistence.
