NOVAFRICA is accepting applications for Research Internships (Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique)

We are looking for research interns to be integrated into the following ongoing NOVAFRICA field research projects:

Both projects are RCTs to measure the impact of a policy intervention. Both are close to intervention stage, although some measurement activities (e.g., surveys) are also underway.

Start date: June 2024.
Duration: 3 to 6 months, with the possibility of an extension.
Location: Guinea-Bissau and Quelimane, Mozambique.
Selection criteria: includes strong motivation related to economic development, as well as an interest in research in economics. Some personal characteristics, like autonomy, thoroughness and capacity to build productive interpersonal relationships, are also important. Working knowledge of Portuguese is needed, but fluency (although welcome) is not a requirement.
Your profile:
• Master students in Economics or International Development & Public Policy are preferred.
• Bachelor’s in Economics, Management, Finance or related fields.
• Ability to work independently.
• Working knowledge of Portuguese is required.
Compensation: The internships are unpaid, although NOVAFRICA will cover travel, accommodation, health expenses, and subsistence.
