NOVAFRICA Vacancy for Research Associate (Portugal)

NOVAFRICA is accepting applications for a Research Associate position in Portugal.

We are looking for a Research Associate to be integrated into the following ongoing NOVAFRICA field research project:

Raising Educational Aspirations – An Experimental Evaluation (Lisbon, Portugal)

Start date: June 2024.
Duration: 12 months.
Location: Lisbon – Portugal

What you can expect: The Research Associate will be responsible for providing support in the implementation of a large scale randomized controlled trial concerning education in underprivileged contexts in Portugal. Their primary tasks will involve data cleaning and analysis, as well as planning and executing the necessary steps for the implementation of follow-up surveys.

Your profile:

• A bachelor or master degree in Economics or related fields.
• Master students in Economics will be preferred (no need to have submitted thesis).
• Strong microeconometric skills.
• Knowledge of experimental impact evaluation methods.
• Programming skills.
• Working knowledge of STATA.
• Ability to work independently.

Compensation: The successful candidate will receive a research scholarship in line with their qualifications.
